COMMINGLED RECYCLING
PLASTIC, CANS & GLASS
Commingled materials are glass bottles & jars (all colors), aluminum cans, aluminum foils, tin cans,
steel cans, and plastic containers (milk, soda, detergent, etc.)
These items should be rinsed, put in same barrel or container and placed at the curb
Please do not put commingled items in plastic bags
CURRENTLY WE ARE ACCEPTING ONLY THE FOLLOWING NUMBERED RECYCLABLES:
You will not be permitted to dispose of materials without proper identification.
Contractors must supply the building permit number
or
proof of work performed in River Edge to the attendant.
CARDBOARD, MAGAZINE & NEWSPAPER RECYCLING
Bundled and tied cardboard, soft cover books, magazines and newspapers will be picked up at the curb.
This includes cereal boxes, boxes used for packaging commodities, other boxes without cellophane
Do not put trash, food or garbage into cardboard boxes.
Please do not put cardboard or papers in plastic bags
Residents may now include polycoated paper packaging such as soup, or juice cartons
as well as milk cartons with commingled recycling.
If your scheduled collection falls on a holiday, that pickup will be skipped

Cardboard not broken down, tied, and bundled, WILL NOT be picked up. A violation sticker will be left on your front door.
Please call the DPW office at 201-599-6275 once the cardboard is broken down, tied, and bundled.
We will return to your home for a pick-up. If there is a second violation, we will not come back to your home.
You will either need to bring it the DPW yard or wait for the next cardboard pick-up.
