Permits
- GARAGE SALE: The license shall be issued to any one (1) person four (4) times only within a twelve-month period, and no such license shall be issued for more than four (4) consecutive calendar days. The fee is $10.00. These permits can be obtained in the Borough Clerk's office during regular office hours.
- RAFFLES: Available to qualified organizations licensed by Legalized Games of Chance. Application must be received by the Borough Clerk's office 14 days prior to a Mayor and Council meeting for approval by resolution. At least 14 days must lapse between the time the municipality forwards the application and the licensing fee to the Control Commission and the date the license is issued to applicant.
- AMUSEMENT MACHINES: A license is required to operate an amusement machine. No more than two (2) machines or devices of the type(s) listed in the Borough Code shall be permitted to be used or operated in any one (1) place, location or premises.

Elections & Voting
To Register to Vote you must be:
- A U.S. Citizen
- At least 18 years old on or before the next election; and
- Residing in the State and County for at least 30 days
Where to Register
Pre-addressed applications can be obtained from the Borough Clerk's office, from the Commissioner of Registration office in Bergen county (1 Bergen County Plaza, Room 380, Hackensack); various State agencies and at the Division of Motor Vehicles offices.
MAIL IN BALLOT- Must be received by Bergen County Office in Hackensack one week before election day or in person by 3pm the day before election day. There are no longer any restrictions as to whom can vote absentee - Anyone can use an absentee ballot for any election.
Core Duties of the Municipal Clerk:
The position of the Borough Clerk is required by New Jersey Statute (N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133)
- act as secretary to the municipal corporation and custodian of the municipal seal and of all minutes, books, deeds, bonds, contracts and archival records of the municipal corporation. The governing body may, however, provide by ordinance that any other specific officer shall have custody of any specific other class of record;
- act as secretary to the governing body, prepare meeting agendas at the discretion of the governing body, be present at all meetings of the governing body, keep a journal of the proceedings of every meeting, retain the original copies of all ordinances and resolutions and record the minutes of every meeting;
- serve as the chief administrative office in all elections held in the municipality, subject to the requirements of Title 19 of the Revised Statutes;
- serves as the chief registrar of voters in the municipality, subject to the requirements of Title 19 of the Revised Statutes;
- serve as the administrative officer responsible for the acceptance of applications for licenses and permits and the issuance of licenses and permits, except where statute or municipal ordinances has delegated that responsibility to some other municipal officer;
- serve as coordinator and records manager responsible for implementing local archives and records retention programs as mandated pursuant to Title 47 of the Revised Statutes;
- perform such other duties as are now or hereafter imposed by statute, regulation or by municipal ordinance or regulation.
