REVERSE 911
Reverse 911 is telephone public alert system used by the borough to alert residents and businesses of an emergent situation by sending a recorded voice message. Announcement examples could be a shelter-in-place alert or a parking ban associated with a significant weather event, criminal activity warning, last minute cancellation of a borough event, an evacuation request associated hazardous spill situation, or any scenario where time is of the essence, and there is a public need to know determination.
It’s the borough desire to reach every resident with 911 alerts. If you have never received a borough generated voice message, or simply don’t recall receiving a message, please register your landline or cellphone. Open this link: REVERSE 911 and complete the short form. If you don’t feel comfortable on the computer, the form can be picked at borough hall or the police department.
